Family Music & Movement Classes
Where your child's development soars while your family bonds grow deeper.
You know there's something special
about the way your little one lights up when music plays.
You're watching your child dance around the living room, shaking a homemade shaker with pure joy on their face. You've seen how music transforms their mood and captures their attention like nothing else. But you wonder... are you doing enough?
Is This You?
You're a loving parent who understands that early childhood experiences shape your child's future.
You aspire to raise a confident, creative child with strong social skills and cognitive advantages.
You're searching for the right educator and a supportive community who share your values around connection and meaningful education.
YES, THAT'S ME!
The Reality
Putting on music videos or shaking instruments at home can be fun, but it doesn't unlock the profound developmental benefits that structured, research-based music education provides.
It’s time to move from:
Isolated music moments → consistent, brain-building weekly ritual
Uncertainty about activities → confidence in research-backed experiences
Struggling to find community → belonging to a tribe of aligned families
Overwhelmed parenting → intentional, connected memory-making

What Parents Say
“Wednesday has become by favorite day of the week! Shannalee creates a wonderful learning experience for all involved. My daughter is very shy and Shannalee did a wonderful job educating me before class that some kids learn by observing and that’s completely okay! My toddler doesn’t want to leave at the end of the 30 minutes (and honestly, I don’t either!)”
-Jenna, Laine's mom“Shannalee has such a beautiful energy. She’s so encouraging, fun and welcoming to everyone. My 2 year old tends towards the shy side, so I was so delighted to see him up and participating in class today! He really enjoys class and feels comfortable.”

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes! Your child is watching you. When you participate fully—even if you feel silly—you show them it's safe to be creative and joyful. The more you put in, the more your child gets out. No one is judging you—we're all too busy having fun!
-
Each class is a musical adventure! We use live singing, ukulele, high-quality instruments, puppets, props, and storytelling to create an immersive experience.
Unlike many children's music programs, we don't use pre-recorded playlists or backing tracks. Every note you hear is played live. We do this so we can showcase how music is constructed and because it reflects our three core values: Connection, Collaboration, and Child-Led learning.
A typical session includes:
Welcome song
Themed musical storytelling (Under the Sea, Deep in the Jungle, Outta Space, etc.)
Instrument exploration and play
Creative movement and dance featuring fun resources
Songs, rhymes, and rhythm activities

Classes run for 30 minutes, which is just the right amount of time for young children to stay engaged and focused. This ensures they have a positive, enjoyable experience without becoming overwhelmed or overstimulated. A 30 minute class allows us to keep the activities fun, dynamic, and perfectly suited to their developmental needs.
-
That's completely okay and totally normal! Every child participates differently, and that's beautiful. Some jump right in. Others observe quietly. Both are valuable forms of engagement, and we honor them equally.
Remember: Even the most quiet child is learning. Trust that they're observing the content and will practice and master it in their own time, in a way and space that feels comfortable for them.
What you can do:
Keep participating yourself—model engagement without pressuring your child
Sit close to your child so they feel safe and supported
Laugh, smile and have fun!
Avoid forcing them to join, instead model the behaviour you’d like to see.
Trust the process—observation is participation

Our family classes are designed for children aged 0-5 years (siblings welcome too).
Children learn from each other, and we believe in families making music as a unit, not in segregated age groups. We create an inclusive environment where babies can explore gentle sounds and textures, toddlers can move and groove, and preschoolers can engage with more complex musical concepts. Everyone participates at their own level!
-
Absolutely! Siblings are welcome, and our classes are perfect for children aged 0-5 years. We do ask that you book for each child over six months old. To keep the experience intimate and inclusive, class sizes are limited to 10 children, so all attendees require a ticket.
-
Just yourselves! We provide all instruments and resources. Optional: water bottles. Please leave toys and food at home.Item description

The best thing you can do is keep making music together! Here are some simple ideas:
Sing throughout the day—while getting dressed, in the car, at bath time
Create homemade instruments: shakers from rice in containers, drums from pots and wooden spoons
Dance together and turn everyday objects into movement resources
Explore the concepts and songs presented in class, you’ll uncover fun new ways to play and make them uniquely your own.
Play music from diverse cultures and genres
Most importantly: follow your child's lead and have fun!
Remember: Your voice is your child's favorite instrument. It doesn't matter if you sing in tune—what matters is that you sing together.
-
Yes, we understand life with little ones is unpredictable! Just enter/exit quietly and we'll welcome you with a smile.
-
We've all been there! Tantrums, meltdowns, and big feelings are part of early childhood.
What we ask:
If your child needs space, take them to a quiet corner or outside briefly
Return when they're ready—we'll still be here making music
Know that we understand. No judgment, no pressure
Trust your instincts as a parent.
-
We have a no-refund policy. If your child is sick, you're welcome to attend another session that week (subject to availability).
-
I understand that committing to a full term can feel like a big decision, both in time and cost. That's why I offer drop in classes (subject to availability). Just book online, choose the day and date that work for you, and we'll see you in class!
